GEOS 128
CEOS 128. For the last year, C128 owners have had to content themselves with
running GEOS in the 64 mode: you had to choose between the super graphic en
vironment offered by GEOS and the more powerful 80-column 128 mode. Well,
now 12S owners can have bothl GEOS 128 isnow shipping!
GEOS 128 includes several new programs. First, it includes a CI28 mode
geoWrite word processor, which makes good use of the 80-column display and
the faster disk access. The package aiso includes geoPaint 128, a powerful
graphics tool, plus the notepad, scrapbook, and calculator desk accessories; and
the latest set of printer and input drivers. The new GEOS package takes advan
tage of many of the C128's features, including the "fast" mode and special func
tion keys. With a 1700 or 1750RAM expander, you can set up a RAMdisk fortru
lyblazing speed.
If you already have GEOS 64, you will still be able to use your 64 mode GEOS
application programs, including geoOex. geoFjie. and geoCalc, with GEOS 128.
(These 64 mode applications will run In the 40column mode; 128 versions are in
the works at Berkeley now.) Your 64 mode geoWrite and geoPaint files will be
compatible, too.
