true,buttheseerisalwaystrue.Theseenmaybe,maynotbe.Inthenightyouseeadream,inthe
morningyoufinditwasnottrue,buttheonewhosawthedreamisstilltrue.Inthemorning,inthe
night,allthetimeheistrue.Youseearopeandyouthink,inthedarknessoftheevening,thatitis
asnake.Butwhenyoucomecloseyouknowthatitisfalse,itisnotso.Buttheseerwasnotfalse.
Eveninseeingsomethinghallucinatory,theseerremainstrue;theseerisneverfalse.
’Khabira’means:theonewhosees,thewitnessinside.SufishavebeautifulnamesforGod;inall
theyhaveninety-ninenamesforGod.Onewonderswhynotonehundred?Itlookssoincomplete.
Foracertain,subtlereason,thehundredthnamehasbeenkeptsilent.ThatisthetruenameofGod
whichcannotbeuttered.ThetaothatcanbeutteredisnotthetruetaoandtheGodthatcanbe
spokenofisnotthetrueGod,becausetheword’God’falsifiestherealityofGod.Sothehundredth
nameisthetruename–whatHinduscall’satnam’,thetruename–butitcan’tbeuttered.Itwill
loseitsbeautyifitisuttered.Itremainsunuttered,atthedeepestcoreoftheheart.Butninety-
ninenamescanbeutteredjustasahelptoreachthehundredth.Thehundredthnameisalmosta
nothingness–whatbuddhashavecalled’nirvana’,nothingness.
SoIcallthesetheninety-ninenamesofnothingness;oneofthemis’khabira’.Getintotheideaofit
andbecomemoreandmoreofaseer.Changethegestaltfromtheseentotheseer.Lookingatthe
tree,remembertheonewhoislooking;eating,remembertheonewhoiseating;walking,remember
theonewhoiswalking.Ratherthanemphasisingtheouter,emphasisetheinner,andslowlyslowly
itbecomesclearwhothisseenis.ThatisourtruerealityandthatiswhatGodis.
Latifa.ThattooisasufinameforGod.Itmeans:thesubtleone.Thegrossoneisvisible,thesubtle
oneisinvisible.Thegrossistheoutside,thesubtleistheinside.Thegrossisobjective,thesubtle

encounterit.Godisinsideyou,asyou.YoucannotstandoutsideGodandseeHim;youcansee
HimonlyfromtheinsidebybeingHim.
Andthesearethetwowaystoapproachreality...
Onewayisthatofscience–thegross,theobjective.Theotherwayisofreligion–thesubtle,
thesubjective.Ifyouseeaflower,.youcanlookatitscientifically.Youlookatthechemistryofit,
attheformofitandthesubstancethatmakesit.Youdissectitandyoucometoknowaboutthe
componentsofit.Butsomethingismissedinthatveryanalysis.Thebeautyismissed,because
beautyisnotacomponentofthegross.Andifyouaskthescientist’Whereisthebeautythatwasin
theflower?’hewillsay’Thatwasnotthere,itwasillusory.Ihavedissecteditallandall,andthese
arethethingsthatIhavefound.Thesechemicalswerethere,thismatterwasthere,theseatoms,
thesemoleculeswerethere.Buttherewasnobeauty.Andthisisall,thisisthetotality...’Butyou
knowandthescientistknowsinhisownpoeticmoments,thattherewasbeauty.Whenhegivesthe
flowertohiswife,heisnotgivinghersomethingchemical.Heisgivingtohersomethingaesthetic,
somethingbeautiful.Butwhenheisascientist,hedeniesit.

youaremissing.Butifyoufallinlovewiththeman,thenyouwillknowsomething.
Thatisreallythespiritoftheman,thebeautyoftheman.Butinloveyouwillhavetobecomeone
withtheman.
’Latifa’meansthesubtleone.Godisthesubtleone.Don’tlookforHimingrossways.Onehasto
developindirectways,aestheticways,poetic,lovingways.Onehastolearnhowtotrust,onehas
tolearnhowtodissolve,howtobecomeonewiththings.Thenoneday,thebenediction.Suddenly
fromnowhereGodarises...notasapersonstandingoutside,butasyou,asapresence,there
insideyouattheverycoreofyourbeing.Godcomesnotasthecircumferencebutasthe
Jalal...anothernameforGod.Itmeans:themajesticone.Allthatisbeautifulinexistence,allthat
hassplendourandmajesty,ispartofGod.Wheneveryouseebeautyitisdivine.Whereveryousee
it,bowdowntoit.ItisthemanifestationofGod.Itmaybeinaflower,itmaybeinahumanface,it
maybeinastaroranywhere,butwhereveryoufeeltheaweandthepresenceofthemajestic,bow

beauty,thecloseryoustartcomingtoGod,themoreyoucanseesplendourhiddeneverywhere.

existsbecausewehavenotunderstood.Itisamisunderstanding,amisinterpretation;itneedsmore
sympathysothatitcanopenitsheart.Seeitinthelightning,intheclouds,intherain,inthesounds,
inthesilence.Justbeinsearchofthemajesticandthenyouwillnotneedtogotoanychurch,to
anytemple,toanymosque,becausethenthewholeexistencebecomesHistemple.Itis!
Rahima.Itmeansmercy,kindness,compassion.ItisanameofGod.Itmeansthecompassionate
one,themercifulone.Andgetintunewiththefeelingofmercy.ThatwillbecomethedoortoGod
foryou.Everybodyhastofindhisowndoor.Differentpeoplegothroughdifferentdoors.They
arriveatthesamegoal,theyreachthesamereality,thesamenothingnessorthesameGod,but
theapproachesaredifferentbecausepersonalitiesaredifferent,typesaredifferent.
Somercyisgoingtobethekeywordforyou.Feelmoreandmorecompassion.Flowinto
compassion...fornoreasonatall,becausecompassioncan’thaveanyreason,itisitsownjoy.
Ifyoudoitforsomereasonitisnomorecompassion.Ithastobespontaneous,onthespot,with
noidea,withnomotive.Thenitbringsgreatjoy.

Byfall?Everythingwillgowell–crossoutthat’if’!Nevergethookedby’ifs’and’buts’.Makelife
simple,andwithout’ifs’and’buts’lifeisverysimple.’Ifs’and’buts’creategreatcomplexity.Because

Hasiba.Itmeans:onewhosatisfies.WithoutGodthereisnosatisfactionpossible.Onecangoon
searchingandonewillfindmanythingsinlifebutnothingisgoingtosatisfy.Justamoment’sillusion
thatonefeelssatisfaction,onehasnotevenfeltitanditisgone.Justadewdropslippingonthe
grassleaf:youhavenotevenseenitcorrectlyandithasdisappeared,fallen.That’showwecome
acrosssatisfaction:onedesireissatisfied–foramomentonefeelsgood,butonlyforamoment,
andagainthewholeturmoilstarts,againthewholetrip.Asonedesiredisappears,tendesiresarise
initsplace,anditisanon-endingprocess.
OnlywithGoddoesthatprocessstop,thatwheelmovesnomore.WhenonecomestoseeGod,
feelGod,liveGod,alldesiringdisappears–oneisutterlysatisfied,andforever.Itisnotmomentary
satisfaction,itiscontentment,absolutecontentment;hencethenameHasiba.Godisonewho
satisfies,whoreallysatisfies.
Everythingelseinlifeonlypromises,buttheyarefalsepromises,thegoodsareneverdelivered.
Moneypromisesthatifyouhaveityouwillbehelped.Butpeoplegoonbecomingricherandricher
andhappinessneverarises.Itisalwaystherelikethehorizon–veryelusive.Relationshipsgiveone
theideathateverythingwillbegoodnowandonewillliveinhappinessforever,butitneverhappens.
IthappensonlywithGodandinGod.
Sowhatsoeversatisfiesyoutotally,absolutelyandforever,iswhatGodis:Godisanothernamefor
thatwhichsatisfies.
HadiisasufinameforGod–itmeans:theguide.AllguidanceisfromGod,andtheguidanceis
alwayscoming–wejusthavetolearnhowtolisten.Itisastillsmallvoiceintheheart.Ifthemind
istoofullofnoiseyouwillnotbeabletohearit.Oncethemindissilent,thatstillsmallvoicearises.
Anditisabsolutelyclear,withnohesitation,withnowavering.Itleavesnoalternatives;itisnota
